ArtworksIt turned out awesome. The opening of the exhibit at Prose gallery in Makati. Friends dropped by, took some time to hang out and got to know other friends. Even though I missed some of them, as I arrived an hour late due to office work, I am glad.
However, the actual "making of" the paintings carried a LOT of challenges. A trial by fire for us artists.
The Ondoy tragedy, and the series of typhoons that followed. Domestic problems. Health issues. A lost rooftop. And a host of other trivialities that can cause depressing results. The paintings imbibed an aura of struggle. Looking at the exhibit as a whole, one can see the representation of gravity and flight. Two factors that can test one's faith in transcendence of any situation.
These paintings witnessed what we went through, both as a group and as individuals. The experience has made us stronger.
"For we walk by faith, and not by sight." - 2 Cor. 5:7
Thank you to everyone who attended and for the support. We are looking forward to our next exhibit, scheduled in December.
"Faith" is the first of Tinangtuko's trilogy exhibit.

Finally finished a decent ballpen artwork, after a very long time. I'm glad it was a portrait of a very good friend for her birthday.

MUSICFor those who think my preference for "old songs" is a facade/put-on, come see for yourselves what I listen to, by the minute, on my last.fm!

The oldies outnumber the newbies in my library. And that's just for the last 3 years from the day I signed up.

FOODThis section isn't exactly about the "right way" of doing it. This is more about improvisations for those of us who are on a budget.
Viennese Maki. Just replace the fish with sliced vienna sausages. Serve with Chardonnay.
